5 Shows On Netflix You Should Watch For A Good Dose Of Fashion

Since 2020, our fashion consumption has been quite volatile. Not just in terms of viewing movies or series with outstanding style, but in our daily life in general. We dress down a lot less, we don’t meet people as often, therefore we don’t consume fashion from outside sources, and, let’s face it, there’s no such thing as a WFH style. Because slouchy jammies are always the best! Sure, you undoubtedly watch a million videos on social media of people putting together outfits, offering style advice, and so on, but it isn’t always enough. And if you’re a fashionista, you’ve probably already binge-watched series like Gossip Girl, Next In Fashion, Styling Hollywood, and so on.

1. The Bold type

The Bold Type is a story about three best friends who work together at a women-focused fashion magazine and have intriguing lives of their own. It attempts to offer you a firsthand look behind the scenes of a fashion magazine. Given that the web series is about a magazine, there are certain to be some amazing looks for you to admire. From very stylish to experimental and quirky to notable vintage style, drag outfits, androgynous fashion, The Bold Type has you covered!

2. Elite

This Spanish web series will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It’s the story of a group of pals in a prestigious school in Spain, the majority of whom come from affluent families and are nearly always embroiled in a dispute or two. Throughout it whole, they are all dressed as though they are going to a Chanel or Gucci event. Elite’s drama and fashion work so well together that I can’t say enough good things about it!

3. Selling Sunset

The plot revolves on five ladies who work for The Oppenheim Group, one of Los Angeles’ most opulent brokerage firms. Based on a true story, Selling Sunset is a package offer that includes LA’s top-notch mansions, stunning (understatement) vistas, opulent neighborhoods, delectable couture, and never-ending drama. Selling Sunset exemplifies what it’s like to work in real estate and be dressed to kill every day! The ladies are constantly dressed to the nines, whether they are on or off duty. Just keep an eye on everything!

4. Schitts Creek

A wealthy, upper-class family loses everything in a single night and is forced to relocate to Schitts Creek, a tiny hamlet in the countryside. You’d assume that because the family had lost virtually all of their things, they’d be clothed in rags (read: regular clothing), but you’d be incorrect. While the father is practically never seen in anything other than his nicest suit, the mother dresses extravagantly every day, despite the fact that all she has to do is, well, nothing. She effortlessly blends edgy with sophistication and eccentricity, and it’s a talent I’d love to master. The daughter is all about flirty and feminine outfits, such as flower patterns, ruffled skirts, and off-the-shoulder shirts. while the son showcases killer androgynous looks like it’s NBD!

5. Bridgerton

The plot revolves around a large group of siblings who set sail to pursue love in the regency era of England, but the show’s costume style provides much-needed eye entertainment for the modern-day. The extravagance and extravaganza of the clothing, the amazing color palettes, the gleaming diamonds combined to form tiaras and things, the stunning hair and cosmetics, it’s all too wonderful to be true. My advice is to watch it and be mesmerized!
