Did you forget to do your spring cleaning? I can’t say I blame you. As the world began to open up this spring, many of us found ourselves spending less time at home than we used to. Why bother counting your clothing when you might be outdoors enjoying the lovely weather? Of course, the pleasures of organizing your closet have no time limit.

Mistake #1: Not Cleaning and Purging Before You Begin Organizing

First, clean up. The secret to keeping your closet organized is to first complete all of your cleaning and eliminating. Consider storage only after you have completed the process of letting go of stuff. When you look through your wardrobe and save the pieces that bring you joy, you’ll know which items you possess and where they go.

Mistake #2: Putting Different Types of Clothes Together

Sort your items by category. This is a fantastic idea for creating basic storage. Sort apparel by tops, bottoms, and jackets, for example. Keep as many pieces as possible that are similar to one another. It will be considerably easier to locate an item when you need it if the number of sites where similar-type things are stored is reduced.

Mistake #3: Folding Wrong

Fold your garments to make them easier to reach. The way garments are folded is one of the most typical housekeeping errors. Clothing in drawers should be folded into tiny, smooth rectangles that can stand straight. When you open a drawer, you’ll be able to see exactly what’s within. The KonMari + Paravel Storage Cubes are also great for keeping out-of-season clothing or extra blankets in your wardrobe.

Mistake #4: Items Buried in Boxes or Drawers

Store in an upright position. When storing things in drawers or boxes, keep them upright. This allows you to view what’s inside at a glance and keep track of what you possess. In other words, if you have to rummage through a drawer or box to find out what’s below, you’ve done it incorrectly.

Mistake #5: Ignoring the Organizational Tip of Left-to-Right

Arrange the hanging things in such a way that they rise from left to right. Long coats would be on the far left of the category, followed by dresses, slacks, skirts, and finally the shortest item: blouses. This is unquestionably the most aesthetically attractive and sleek-looking approach.
